Apple’s much-anticipated iPhone 16 “Glowtime” event might be behind us, but 2024 isn’t over yet, and there’s still plenty more to come from Apple. While the September event introduced exciting updates to the iPhone, AirPods, and Apple Watch, several key products were noticeably absent, leaving room for further announcements before the year ends. Expect more Apple products to launch before the end of 2024, including updates to the iPad, Mac, and potentially new innovations that Apple has kept under wraps. As the year progresses, Apple’s upcoming launches are set to keep the tech world buzzing.
October Event:
While Apple’s September event tends to dominate headlines, October typically brings a second wave of product announcements. Over the years, Apple has developed a pattern of splitting its fall product launches into two events: the first in September and the second, often, in October. If you expect more Apple products to launch before the end of 2024, the October event will be your next major milestone.

Historically, October events have focused on devices that weren’t covered in the September launch, usually the Mac and iPad lineups. There is often room for surprise announcements, especially when it comes to software updates or services. However, the consensus in the tech community is that this year’s October event will most likely focus on Mac and iPad updates that were absent from the September spotlight.
iPad and iPad Mini: Ready for an Update
With Apple’s iPad receiving its last significant update in 2022, fans and industry experts are anticipating a refresh in the near future. While there haven’t been major rumors or leaks about what exactly to expect, it’s safe to assume that Apple’s next iPad will come with a faster chip, likely the M4, and enhanced compatibility with Apple’s new AI-driven “Apple Intelligence” system.
The iPad mini, in particular, seems ripe for an overhaul. It’s been three years since the last iPad mini update, and many are predicting that 2024 will finally bring some much-needed changes. Among the expected improvements are a new chip, possibly even the same 48MP camera sensor found on the iPhone 16, and a shift to landscape orientation for the front camera to improve video calls.
Apple fans, however, shouldn’t expect an OLED display on the iPad mini just yet. Instead, Apple is more likely to address complaints like the “jelly scrolling” issue that has plagued users of the sixth-gen iPad mini. Meanwhile, the iPad Air and iPad Pro received significant updates earlier in 2024, which means another refresh before the year ends is highly unlikely.
Mac Mini: A Likely Contender for the October Event
Another product poised for an update is the Mac mini. Last refreshed in early 2023, the Mac mini could soon receive an upgrade to Apple’s next-generation M4 chip, making it one of the most powerful compact computers on the market. Rumors suggest that this update might include a design overhaul as well, shifting away from the familiar aluminum puck form factor to something sleeker and more refined.
There’s also a possibility that Apple will offer two variants of the Mac mini—one with the standard M4 chip and another with the more powerful M4 Pro. This would follow Apple’s pattern of providing multiple tiers of performance within the Mac mini lineup, catering to both casual users and professionals who need extra processing power.
iMac: Could We See a Bigger Model?
The 24-inch iMac, which was last updated with the M3 chip in late 2023, is another candidate for a 2024 refresh. Many believe that Apple could release an M4 version of the iMac, although this update might be more about keeping the iMac in line with Apple’s other products rather than introducing groundbreaking new features.
However, there’s also been a persistent rumor that Apple is developing a larger iMac, potentially with a 32-inch display. If true, this would be a significant addition to the iMac lineup, giving creative professionals and those who prefer larger screens more options when it comes to Apple’s all-in-one desktop.
MacBook Pro: Another Likely Update
The MacBook Pro is almost certain to receive an update before the end of 2024, with the focus likely to be on the integration of the M4 chip. After the introduction of the M3-powered MacBook Pro in 2023, it’s reasonable to expect that Apple will continue its annual chip update cycle. However, don’t expect any major design changes or revolutionary new features. Most of the rumors point to a spec bump rather than a complete overhaul, meaning the 14-inch and 16-inch models will look and feel much the same, with the primary improvements under the hood.
For many professionals, the MacBook Pro’s yearly updates are crucial, as they often represent the latest in Apple’s performance hardware. The M4 chip is expected to provide faster processing, better power efficiency, and even greater integration with Apple’s AI systems, making it a key tool for creative professionals, developers, and anyone who needs high-performance computing on the go.
What Not to Expect Before 2025
While there’s plenty to look forward to in terms of product launches before the end of 2024, it’s important to manage expectations about what might not make an appearance. For instance, while the iPad Pro was updated with the M4 chip earlier in 2024, a second update this year seems unlikely unless Apple has a surprise planned, such as an M4 Pro or M4 Max version.
Similarly, the iPad Air, which was bumped to the M2 chip earlier in 2024, isn’t expected to see another update until at least 2025. The MacBook Air, another fan favorite, is also likely off the table for 2024, with most rumors pointing to a spring 2025 release for its next refresh.

Fans of Apple’s high-end desktop products will also have to wait a bit longer for updates. The Mac Studio and Mac Pro, both of which cater to professionals in fields like video editing and 3D design, aren’t expected to be refreshed until late 2025. However, there’s always a slim chance that Apple could surprise everyone with an earlier release.
Will There Be Any Surprises?
Apple is known for throwing in the occasional curveball during its product launches, so it’s entirely possible that we could see something unexpected before the year ends. Whether it’s a new iteration of an existing product, a completely new device category, or a major software update, Apple likes to keep its fans guessing.
One area where Apple could innovate is in its AI-driven initiatives. With the introduction of “Apple Intelligence” during the September event, there’s a lot of speculation that Apple may soon integrate this technology more deeply into its hardware lineup. Whether it’s through new smart home devices, AR/VR headsets, or AI-enhanced software tools, there’s plenty of room for Apple to make waves in this emerging space.
Conclusion: Expect More Apple Products to Launch Before the End of 2024
As we move into the final months of 2024, it’s clear that Apple still has plenty of product launches in store. Whether you’re in the market for a new iPad, a Mac, or just curious to see what Apple has up its sleeve, there’s a lot to look forward to. With rumors of an October event and several key product updates expected, now is the time to stay tuned for Apple’s next big announcements.
So, expect more Apple products to launch before the end of 2024, as the tech giant continues to expand its ecosystem and push the boundaries of innovation.

The remaining Lightning cabled devices will probably get upgrades within 6 weeks or at least be discontinued in EU. Keyboard, mouse, trackpad, 1st gen Pencil, and iPhone SE. The iPhone SE could be kept alive outside EU. Would be nice if Apple gave these units a proper update.
